2010 PSA Physio Ball

Friday, April 9th, 2010

For those who remember last year’s ball, it was a genuine cracker. Drinks, food and those mates from around that place where you go to learn stuff. Like, physio stuff. But some of us don’t remember the night, and perhaps that is as good a tribute as a ball receives.

But a reminder. The ball is a night to dress up. To eat. To drink (possibly to excess). To have a go at the hot boy/girl that you are too afraid to ask out on a romantic outing when sober. To make a fool of yourself such that you can’t talk to anyone from uni for a week (if you have recovered sufficiently to attend classes).

Seriously though. This is one good ball. Physio Ball is to Uni events what Corey Worthington is to Douche bags. That is, top of the pile. So suit up, get into the winter vibe, and put your dancing/drinking shoes on!

Where: San Remo Ball Room, 365 Nicholson St, Carlton (where it was last year)

When: Thursday 29 April, 7pm-12.30am

Coin: $75 for members, $80 for non-members. Show your keyring for the discount people!

Theme: Winterwonderland (I don’t know what I’ll wear either. A Roberto Mancini scarf perhaps?)

Afterparty: Dedicated venue on Johnson st (ie nice and close). $5 cover charge.

Vibe: Loose

NOTE: Please listen up in lectures, as the reps will tell you when they are selling tickets! Or check facebook or the website. If you are a nerd/honours person, no we won’t update through LMS, and we don’t do tickets pro bono.

LTU-PSA Vs MUPSS Netball

Thursday, September 17th, 2009

What do you think of when I say ‘Melbourne Uni’? Ralph Lauren Polo’s. Placement stealing. Gold bullion. Having to sit the UMAT. Engineering students using their degrees to build unnecessarily complicated beer bongs. Soy latte’s.

Well that may just be me (this author’s opinion doesn’t represent that of management- Ed.). But it’s fair to say there is no love lost, right? Okay, so you’re indifferent because you have never met anyone from Melbourne, let alone a MU physio student. Well try to fire up son/daughter!

Formally slated as a footy match, the PSA and MUPSS will be facing off in a winner takes all, best-of-three netball tournament at Melbourne Uni to decide who is the pre-eminant physio faculty in Victoria.

Having smashed MUPSS last year in both the footy match and the pub crawl, they want revenge. Sweet revenge. And after we denied their proposal of synchronised swimming, and our proposal of cage fighting was deemed ‘too exclusionary’, netball was agreed upon.

So get down to melbourne uni on Friday the 25th September. Bring your court shoes. Bring your figure hugging body suit. Bring some Ice Cold Beers/premixed lollywater. Bring your game face. This rivalry is stepping up a notch…

ps there will be a barbecue during the game and the famous PUB CRAWL afterwards.

Event: LTU-PSA Vs MUPSS Netball match

When: 3-5pm, 25th September

Where: Melbourne University Netball courts (in the middle of the Athletics track)

Vibe: Banter. Bring some refreshments, and be ready for the barbecue and pub crawl afterwards!
